Migration checklist
A migration is not complete when the workflow merely imports.
A safe migration should prove source coverage, keep credentials out of migration evidence, verify expected outputs before cutover, preserve a rollback path, require human approval, and keep post-cutover failures visible.

Before build
- Confirm the source workflow and business-critical outcome.
- Remove or redact passwords, tokens, API keys, and other secrets from migration evidence.
- Classify unsupported or manual steps before promising scope.
Before cutover
- Verify every source step is mapped, transformed, manual, or blocked.
- Keep the n8n candidate inactive by default.
- Collect parity evidence for expected outputs.
- Prepare rollback guidance while the previous automation remains available.
- Require explicit human cutover approval.
After cutover
- Confirm the expected schedule or trigger behavior.
- Monitor failures, repeated failures, stale expected runs, and abnormal latency where supported.
- Record incidents and customer-visible next actions.
- Use measured results to decide whether ongoing monitoring is worth paying for.
