Evidence artifact · parity acceptance
Import success is not parity.
A migrated n8n workflow is ready only when the agreed business behavior is proven. Movetali records what must match, what may differ, how failure paths behave, and what blocks cutover.
The table below is a synthetic example of the acceptance format, not customer evidence.
Parity acceptance table
Define “same enough” before anyone switches production.
| Check | Source expectation | n8n acceptance rule | Cutover effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lead fields | Name, email, source preserved | Exact field/value match after approved mapping | Block on mismatch |
| Routing | Qualified leads reach the same destination | Every accepted branch reaches its documented target | Block on missing branch |
| Side effects | One CRM record and one notification | No missing or duplicate side effects | Block on duplicate/missing write |
| Failure path | Bad input remains visible and recoverable | Expected failure is surfaced with an owner/action | Block if failure is silent |
| Intentional change | Documented source behavior | Difference is explicit and human-accepted | Proceed only after acceptance |
What parity testing should cover
Known representative inputs produce the agreed outputs and side effects.
Each business-relevant path is exercised, not just the happy path.
Expired credentials, missing fields, API failures or rate limits are visible where in scope.
Schedules, deduplication, retries and ordering are checked when they affect the outcome.
The cutover gate
Expected outputs, tolerances, side effects and blockers are explicit before testing.
Capture durable evidence for normal, edge and failure behavior that is actually in scope.
Classify each difference as corrected, transformed, manual, blocked or deliberately accepted.
The candidate stays inactive until blocking checks pass and intentional differences are accepted.
